రిజర్వ్ బ్యాంక్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా ద్రవ్య విధాన కమిటీ 2017-18 సంవత్సరానికి ఆరవ నెలవారీ విధాన ప్రకటనను విడుదల చేసింది. రిజర్వుబ్యాంకు ఆఫ్ రిపో రేటును రిజర్వుబ్యాంకులో ఉంచింది. ఆర్బీఐ ఇతర బ్యాంకులకి ఇచ్చే కీలక రేటు - 6 శాతంగా మారలేదు. డిసెంబరులో వినియోగదారుల ద్రవ్యోల్బణం 17 నెలల గరిష్ఠ స్థాయికి 5.21 శాతానికి పెరిగింది - ఆర్బిఐ యొక్క 4 శాతం లక్ష్యమే మీడియం టర్మ్లో ఉంది. ద్రవ్య విధాన కమిటీకి నాయకత్వం వహిస్తున్న ఆర్బిఐ గవర్నర్ అర్జిత్ పటేల్ మీడియాను 2:45 నుంచి 3:05 గంటల వరకు పరిష్కరించుకుంటారు. రిజర్వ్ బ్యాంక్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా విధానం ప్రకటన 2018 బడ్జెట్ విడుదల తర్వాత మొదటిది మరియు ప్రపంచ ఆర్ధిక మార్కెట్లలో సంక్షోభం మధ్య వస్తుంది

ఆర్బిఐ గవర్నర్ ఉరిజిత్ పటేల్ అధ్యక్షతన జరిగిన ద్రవ్య విధాన కమిటీ బుధవారం బుధవారం 2:30 గంటలకు రెపో రేటు నిర్ణయాన్ని ప్రకటించింది. రిజర్వుబ్యాంకు ఆఫ్ ఇండియా 6 ఫిబ్రవరి 2018 నాటికి నెలవారీ విధాన నిర్ణయాన్ని ఆరవది మరియు ఆఖరి నెలకొల్పింది. ఆరవ ద్వైపాక్షిక విధానంలో రిజర్వుబ్యాంక్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా ద్రవ్య సర్దుబాటు సదుపాయం (LAF) క్రింద రెపో రేటును 6% వద్ద ఉంచింది. దీని ఫలితంగా, LAF కింద రివర్స్ రెపో రేటు 5.75 శాతంగా ఉంటుంది, మరియు ఉపాంత స్థాన సౌకర్యం (MSF) రేటు మరియు బ్యాంక్ రేటు 6.25%. రిజర్వుబ్యాంకు ఆఫ్ ఇండియా డిసెంబరు సమీక్షలో ఎంపీసి (ద్రవ్య విధాన కమిటీ), ధరల పెంపునకు సంబంధించి బెంచ్మార్క్ వడ్డీరేట్లు మారలేదు.

రిజర్వుబ్యాంకు ద్రవ్యోల్బణాన్ని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని, వరుసగా మూడు వారాల్లో కీలక వడ్డీ రేట్లను 6 శాతానికి మార్చలేదు. గత ఆర్బిఐ గవర్నర్ అర్జిట్ పటేల్ నేతృత్వంలోని ద్రవ్య విధాన కమిటీ గత బెంచ్ మార్క్ రుణ రేటును గత ఆగస్టులో 6 శాతానికి తగ్గించి, 6 సంవత్సరాల కనిష్ట స్థాయికి తగ్గించింది. డిసెంబరు సమీక్షలో, ఎంపీసి బెంచ్ మార్క్ వడ్డీరేటును ధరకు ధరల పెంపుపై మార్పు చేయలేదు కానీ భవిష్యత్లో తగ్గింపు రేటును తగ్గించటానికి తలుపును వదిలివేసింది. రిటైల్ ద్రవ్యోల్బణం ఆర్బిఐ ఓదార్పు స్థాయిని అధిగమించింది. డిసెంబరులో ఆహార పదార్థాల ధరల పెరుగుదల డిసెంబరులో 5.21 శాతానికి పెరిగింది. వినియోగదారుల ధరల సూచి (సిపిఐ) ఆధారంగా రిటైల్ ద్రవ్యోల్బణం 4.88 శాతంగా నమోదైంది. డిసెంబర్ 2015 లో అది 3.41 శాతం. కీ తీసుకునేవారు - రెపో రేటు మారదు - ద్రవ్యోల్బణం అంచనా వేసింది - ద్రవ్యోల్బణం ఔట్లుక్: 2018-19 నాటికి CPI ద్రవ్యోల్బణం H1 లో 5.1-5.6 శాతం పరిధిలో ఉంది, కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగుల యొక్క గణాంక HRA ప్రభావాన్ని తగ్గించడం మరియు H2 లో 4.5-4.6 శాతం తగ్గడంతో, పైకి నష్టపోయే ప్రమాదాలు ఉన్నాయి.

Introduction

The term tariff means rate and when applied to rooms of hotel it means rooms rate. Hotel room rate fixation is difficult task. They are both qualifiable and quantifiable. The quantifiable aspect is that they can be measured and structured to meet certain criteria and qualifiable aspect is that large amounts of description are allowed in which rates are implemented and when. The combination of all the rates offered at a hotel is called “Rate Structure”.
Basic of Charging
Various basic of charging room tariff are used by the hotel. Most important is that the hotel shall fix the room tariff keeping in mind the following factors.
1.   Competition: Rates must be competitive with other hotels of same standard and providing almost similar services and facilities as providing by other hotels situated in the same vicinity of the city.
2.   Customer profile: The category of customers coming to your hotel must also be considered. Their social status, i.e. paying capacity, should be kept in mind.
3.   Standards of services: standards of services providing by the hotel are also important while fixing room tariff. The U.S.P of hotel should be kept in mind while deciding the room tariff. More amenities, higher the standard, so also higher the room rate.
4.   Price cuts for special business: At times price cus for special business may be done. The price cut makes sense only if,
5.   Locality: The locality in which the hotel is situated gains performance while fixing room rates. If the hotel is situated in a posh locality where all the shopping and other facilities, approaches to airports and railway stations are whorthy, the room-rate would be comaprbly higher than those situated in backward and far-off localities. Naturally, the guest would not mind paying more if he gets amenities and facilities to his taste and liking.
6.   The surroundings, cost of land and building architecture, constructions: Surroundings need also a great deal of consideration because the hotel proprietor spends lakhs of rupees in decor and furnishing and thus needs fair and equitable return on his spending.
7.   Various amenities: Various amenities the hotel going to provide to the guests such as air-conditioning in all rooms, carpeting, provision of swimming pool, tennis –court equipment, arrangements for floor-shows, dancing, games banqueting, conference halls, lobbies lawns parking places, special aspects of continental and Indian cuisine, cutlery and crockery, modern equipment and machinery. These things do count when factors of room rates are considered.

Hotels also charge rates on the basis of meals provided or not provided along with room to the guest.
(a)           European plan: Where the tariff of room includes only the room rate and any meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner etc. Provided will be charged extra also called non inclusive rates because it was the characteristic of the European hotel, where Americans stay on there.
(b)           Continental Plan: Where the room tariff includes along with the room rate the continental breakfast also.
(c)            American plan: Where the room tariff along with rates the English breakfast, table d’hote lunch and dinner and may also include early morning tea and afternoon tea with snacks.
(d)           Modified American Plan: Where the room tariff along with room rates includes English breakfast, and one of the two major meals i.e, either lunch or dinner only suitable for groups and individual guests who arrive late evening and take dinner and leave hotel after taking breakfast next morning.

(e)           Bermuda Plan: Which is a modification of continental plan where the breakfast included is American (which is quite heavy) in place of continental breakfast.

Competition:

Rates must be competitive with other hotels of the same standard and providing almost similar services and facilities as provided by the other hotels situated in the same vicinity of the city.

·       This chapter discuss the various systems of reservation found I the hotels of the world.
Central reservation System
·        The central reservation system is a fully computerized network of reservation used by the players of the hospitality industry across the world.
·        The central reservation system operates through the satellite and is based on the principle of WAN (Wide Area Network)
·        The central reservation system operates through central reservation offices which are also called CROs

Types of Central Reservation System

I Affiliate Central Reservation System:-

·       The affiliate central reservation system is the central reservation network formed by the properties of a particular hotel chain.
·       The reservation system operates through the central reservation offices which are located within the properties of the chain, outside the hotel in the same city and also in cities where the particular chain is not having any such property.
·       Thus, through the central reservation system, a guest can book his reservation from one city to another as well as from cities where than chain has no properties.
·       Thus, it is important for the participating properties of the chain to give their room availability to the central reservation offices from time to time
·       Sometimes independent properties also participate in the affiliate reservation system of a particular chain I order to gain the benefit of the central reservation network and so these independent properties are called Overflow Facility.

II. Non-affiliate Central Reservation System:-

·       The association of the independent properties in order to gain the same benefits of the affiliate central reservation system forms the non-affiliate central reservation system.

·       The non-affiliate central reservation system also works in the same way as the affiliate central reservation system.

Preparation in reservation section is done on day prior to the arrival of the expected guest. It involves checking of records which were made for the arriving guest at the arriving guest at the time of booking and generating documents based on already available information and transmitting the same to the front desk at close of reservation.Depending upon the systems used for reservations the preparation will vary. Usually all hotels maintains a correspondence file which contain the set of documents pertaining to each reservation request. The set may have documents such as request letter from the guest, copy of offer letter of the hotel, confirmation letter from the guest and copy of acknowledgement letter sent to the guest by the hotel, the reservation form made by the hotel for the guest and also a copy of Whitney Reservation Slip. Depending upon the mode of booking all the above documents or some of the above documents will be there for every expected guest.In case of a small hotel which is using dairy system of reservation, one day before the guest arrival the reservationist will tally each set of documents in the correspondence file of that day with the records of dairy for the same day booking. If there is any discrepancy the same will be sorted out and necessary correction will be sent made. Next a movement list will be made on the basis of the dairy for next day arrivals. Movement list is a document which contains the names of expected arrivals and expected departure for next day. The information about expected arrivals can be found from the folded slips of room rack.In case the hotel is using fully automatic systems, the front desk does not need any movement list and all the necessary information about those days’ arrivals can be viewed on the Visual Display Unit (VDU) as and when needed.
